Colorado Man Throws Away Gold to Avoid Paying to Ex

According to the Huffington Post, a Colorado man has literally “thrown away” his life savings in order to avoid giving it to his ex-wife as required by his divorce settlement.
Earl Ray Jones apparently converted his $500,000 retirement and investment accounts into gold coins and bars and then threw the gold into a garbage can behind a motel in Colorado Springs. No one witnessed Jones throwing away the gold and the gold has not been recovered. As of now, the only evidence of this act is Mr. Jones’ statement.
Mr. Jones is currently in a Teller County, Colorado jail awaiting sentencing on a criminal conviction for hitting his wife and holding her captive.
